Place a dishwasher-safe cup filled with plain white vinegar on the top rack of the dishwasher. Using the hottest water available, run the dishwasher through a cycle. The vinegar will help to wash away the loose, greasy grime, sanitizes, and helps remove the musty odor. Instead of a small couch or loveseat, I'd try to find a couple vintage slipper chairs (no arms). Some styles are sleeker than others. They are lower to the ground and are actually very comfortable. (The lumbar pillow is a nice touch too.) Now I'd need a small table with storage to sit between them.

These would be great to write a recipe on for baked goods along with gifting the baked goods. :) Buy some cheap plates at the dollar store and a pen to write on porcelain and bake in the oven for 30 minutes and you've some customized plates!
