Trace the hand in pencil. With a marker, draw a straight line until you get to the hand. Then make a curve from one line to the next, then continue the straight line.

"Cloud dough is a lovely sensory experience to provide for preschool children. It has a beautiful silky smooth texture and can smell divine… depending on which baby oil you choose to add to the mix. Here is the recipe… and oh so easy! 8 cups of plain flour to 1 cup of baby oil. Enjoy mixing!"

Dawn Davidson Wanted to comment on this, as a bit of a warning after our experience. While we were playing with the dough, I had a terrible allergic reaction from breathing in the oil-soaked flour. Came to find out that baby oil is toxic when aspirated and has even been known to kill babies who have aspirated vomit after ingesting it. While the dough should be limited to children old enough not to eat it, I had not considered the possibility of breathing it in simply from the air. This same project can be done with ordinary vegetable oil - add a few drops of your favorite essential oil for fragrance, and you have a perfectly safe alternative.
Hippie Housewife That's really good to know, Dawn. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Very cool, fun art shading project from Art With Mr. E.; he's an elementary art specialist. Try this with your kids (but I think grown ups would enjoy this too).
