Pictures of families in various countries around the world and the amount (and type) of food they eat in one week's time. The American picture is absolutely embarrassing in comparison.

DIY Fire Starters for Camping - You begin with an empty egg carton, add old dryer lint, and cover in wax. You just let the wax dry, break them into 12 individual cups, and light the cardboard corner to start your fire.

'Choose Joy' Comfort Shower! What an incredible idea to support, comfort, and honor friends and loved ones going through difficult times (this particular woman was battling cancer and all of her friends and family met together for a special luncheon and brought comfort items for her visits in the hospital).

Stephanie Van Gorden Thanks for this. Double-checking the source hadn't really occurred to me - I guess I was naive to believe that people would make sure they were connecting to the REAL source.

This awesome contraption allows you to keep your home phone line for FREE (plus tax, which ends up being about $3 PER MONTH). And, you can even keep your old phone number!

Instead of giving your child birthday cards (which inevitably get lost), write your heartfelt sentiments for special occasions (birthdays, starting school, etc) in a journal...which will be a keepsake when they're grown!

Each person submits a thing they are grateful for and then you type them up and roll into the Thanksgiving dinner rolls. It's fun to find them all - even more fun to guess who they belong to. This Thanksgiving tradition will be a keeper!

Baptism Gift Idea...I really like this idea, but I'm trying to decide whether it trivializes such an important decision. Thoughts??
3 likes 7 comments 22 repins
Katey Magill I think I might skip the poem for the reason you mentioned, but I do really like the idea of giving someone who has just been baptized a special gift that includes laminated Bible verses that have personal meaning to me.
Jayme Whitlow Ummmm...i don't think it trivializes it at all!!!!! When one of my friends daughters was baptized...they took their family out to eat a special dinner with family and friends and had a cake!!! She also had some special gifts. I'm planning on doing this for my kiddos when that day comes...talk about something to celabrate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amy Bortell I think it's great idea. It could be tweaked a bit but very thoughtful. :)
Jenae {I Can Teach My Child!} Thanks for your thoughts, everyone! These would be fun to make as a group and then have on hand for the coming baptisms...with added scripture cards too! :)
Jodi Beck I love it! I think we sometimes make God out to be a serious, boring guy. I think of God as being playful, loving, and one who loves to hear the humor and joy of kids.

Fetching pins…
Abby Sostre Wow, really puts into perspective our definition of poverty.
Chasmyn Lindeman It shows how more developed countries spend money on things that they don't need to live off of. There was beer and junk. In other countries they spent money on food that would last longer or is much better for you.
Tara Wow. This is a great pin. I am going to use it in our study of countries and cultures this year!
