Indy Ink Becky, the caption does not say "healthy." It is simply a declaration of self esteem and self love. This board does not promote a particular type of body, it exists to show people the difference between a retouched photograph and one that has not been retouched.

MicheleBlue oh geesh, i own this magazine... it's currently sitting on the floor next to my bed. I didn't even notice! And I always notice the photoshoped images. Indy Ink Quite a feat if it is, considering how far forward that arm is. The hips and legs look very off to me... and she has no armpit or hip at all on the left.
MicheleBlue you can pretty much count on that her arm was somewhat over her stomach, which didn't work for making her look all tiny in the waist.... so they just cut her arm off. easy fix, right? No matter how you look at it, her hand or something should be showing from behind her leg. The leg has obviously been tweeked to look thiner around the knee/calf area as well. It was probably easier to just lose that arm to tweek the leg, than to edit the arm.
Again, this workout does not give you this body... Photoshop does. Judging from the weird blurs just above the bikini line, I'm not sure that stomach is even hers. Waist was nipped in, left hip deleted, right upper arm elongated, butt removed... and I just can't get over that knee on the right. It's going two different directions! I pointed out that bizarre knee to someone who pinned this as 'motivation', because I wanted her to know it was fake, and some crazy girl called me a hater and accused me of being fat and lazy. It saddens me that we've raised a generation of women who think these things are reality. I wish someone had told me how fake everything is when I was a teenager, it would have made it a lot easier for me to stop resenting my body sooner.
Indy Ink Jaimie, speak the truth to someone who doesn't want to hear it, and they will turn on you. You are not a hater. Honesty isn't hate. I get a lot of criticism for having this board, mostly the accusation that I am a "fatty" sitting at a computer with a terrible case of jealousy. Actually I am a former model, 5'9, a muscular size 6, rail thin with naturally large chest. People stop me at grocery stores and shopping malls to tell me I'm beautiful. I have no need to look like the airbrushed, inhuman image that is a Victoria's Secret Angel... and I resent the marketing lackeys who want me to hate myself for having pores. If you check back with those girls in a year, none of them will look like this picture... and you'll still be the happy girl you are. :) Learning to appreciate natural beauty makes life realistically beautiful.

I will agree that a lot of media poisons the mind of many adolescence but weren't you a little girl who liked playing dress up. I have 2 nieces and the 7 year old loves soccer and sports and swimming and the 4 year old loves all things girly... Even at age 2 anything electronic was against her ear anything with a loop to slide her arm through was a purse and whether it was slippers, sandals or my sneakers she found ways to slide her tiny feet into. Kids mimick what they see, I explained the older one for proof that it was not the parenting it was simply the 4year old having different interest. She loves to match, I have had wardrobe argument with her one particularly I made a rock band with pots and pans a Hannah Montana guitar a mic and a radio, She had to dress like a rock star, wearing a tutu meant I HAD to find her stockings!! Little girls play dress up!
