In 1890, Los Angeles County built a Victorian one-room schoolhouse on Calabasas Road. Several teachers tried to bring formal education to the unruly, prank-loving students.

The school is Stokes School (District School #2) that was on the west side of the intersection of Hwy 57 and O in southern Door County, Wisconsin. The school was torn down in the 1970s.
