Kikutext is a new service for keeping parents informed about your classroom and or school through text messages. The service is an opt-in service for parents. When you create a Kikutext account you're assigned an opt-in code to distribute to parents. Parents then send that code in a text message to register to receive messages from you. Kikutext keeps the phone numbers of parents and those of teachers and principals hidden from each other.

Fetching pins…
Ellen Adams have you used this? I use remind101 and I was just wondering what you thought of this?
Jessica Jackson Meacham I actually found out about this and the one you mention yesterday. So they are both new to me. I can't tell you how many times I thought to myself this year and last year, "oh...if only I could mass text my parents...." LOL I think I'll try both for the res of this year and use this year's parents as guinea pigs....to see which one works better. =D
Ellen Adams I only had about 6 parents sign up but they absolutely love it. I think if I start promoting it from the beginning next year, I may get more participants. Good luck with your experiment, let me know which you like better!
