Royalti Jones Ok, being a nail fanatic, I saw this tutorial a while back and naturally, I loved it and couldn't wait to try it. But months later, i've had no success and a lot of mess! The two problems I ran it to were 1. my paint drops wouldn't spread out. I tried diff. brands, water temps, anything you can think of, but they don't continue to spead after the first few (which you cant use anyway b/c they dry too fast). and 2. the few times i was able to get a decent pattern, when i dipped the nail, cleaned the top water and took the nail out, the polish was thick and the design was smeared. Anyone have any tips for me?? :-(
Jerusha Barnett If you are talking about marbleizing on your nails...use a small cup (I use a small salad dressing cup I "took" from a restaurant "accidentally"....use room temp filtered water....and don't wait too long to place your nails in. If the water is too cold, it will dry faster. If you use quick dry nail polish, it won't work as well either. As far as the "smudge" look, put your nails in until they are completely underwater. Count to 10...then take a q-tip and wipe the excess polish from around your fingers...then remove your fingers from the water. Works like a charm!
Sparkly Sharp & Fabulous I agree with Jerusha, use a small cup if at all possible, and work quick! As far as the thickness and smearing, the marble process, at least for me, does create a bit of a thicker coat and it will take longer to dry (again, at least for me) but depending on what angle and how fast you take your finger out you shouldnt be smearing it. I've noticed if I go too slow, it will bleed off into the water as I'm pulling my finger out, but it helps to go straight out as well.
Stephanie Schaft not all nail polishes work, just sit one day and go through them all to see if they work, make sure you put your nail bed on the water and not your fingertip. do not pull your finger out while polish is still in the cup

Lizzy Mckean I would say that as a Beauty Therapist that everybody's skin/lips are different, some need a little help some don't. I usually find my lips get chapped with the changing of seasons but are usually otherwise fine and just need an occasional slather of lip balm, whereas other people have to use it constantly. The lips have no natural way to moisturise, unlike facial skin, but like the skin on the rest of our body it sheds constantly and some people just need a little extra help. Just because you dont need something do poo-poo it for others. I agree that the above lip scrub is unnecessarily expensive and there are ways that are just as good, if not better, for a fraction of the cost.
