Sonia Leiter Not to keep this going, but @Chelsea Abbott, my THREE year old says "I have..." and corrects improper grammar on other kids. My 5 year old also says "I have..". While not every single kindergartener says it properly the majority of children that age have that type of grammar down.

Sandra Primrose When I would put the bean in a small ziplock bag I would wet the cotton pretty thoroughly, then seal the bag. I would tape it to a section of my classroom window where it would get great sunlight, and shade too; but the sealed bag would just keep the moisture in allowing the roots to grow, amazing. I also had the children bring in sweet potatoes in March (when we studied Ireland) and we would cut them in half, place the cut side in water along with some of the "eyes" to watch them sprout. They would become beautiful vines by Mother's day. So we would plant the vines in pots and wrap them up as Mother's Day gifts. Kids in Kindergarten especially loved this, so did the Mom's!
