Marek Thi Tomatoes are the sweets in the vegetable garden. To prevent diseases, you should try to protect the plants from rain. Good irrigation management is important and should be done on the ground.
Shannon Owen Don't you just love the taste of your first garden tomato of the season, that warm, sweet, juicy, tangy, wonderful fruit.

Sylvia Harris Beautiful arrangment
Suzi Lopez This is soooo gorgeous! Love sedums!
Susanne Oakley This is the exact one I purchased. I made mine last fall and it hung on the wall of my courtyard all winter but I put a plastic bag over it so it wouldn't freeze and it survived. But I do find that the watering thing on top doesn't really deliver the water as it should so I spritz mine. Mine looks quite different than your :)

Elicia Blackford Do you think it could be low-flow? That looks like a lot of water
Liz Richter probably not. but fountains run on a loop so it's not like it's constantly using new water.
Terri Widger Looks good enough to actually drink water.
Sharon Miranda sharon miranda wow i like
Tabitha Marx *liz thanks for clarifying that; I'm always amazed at people who think my garden pond is using 'new' water to run the fountain. Most fountains are just there to keep the water moving so mosquitoes won't breed in it, not only to look pretty.

Pamela Amaral Farrell Cool idea. It looks so nice and neat!
Lynne Perry We have a similar thing outside our back door, they work a treat, especially good for quick to reach herbs and lettuce leaves. We covered the inside with liners with a few holes stabbed in it, it helps retain the water as they do tend to dry out really quickly in summer.
Cathy Newton Baker I did this 2 weeks ago with some wood wine boxes and my herbs are growing great and it looks really nice.
Diane Chilinski this looks like a totally cool idea...love it!

Janice Encardone Great to put vinegar in to kill weeds . Total control
Ann Williams i did this and it so works GOOD!!!!
Ange Mills I tried to do this without looking at the instructions on the link. Do not use a nail to poke holes, like I did, it will just crack the lid.

Wilde Hilde Wizenheimer slugs lay eggs and pill bugs gather in the empty upside down pot..in my experience doing that. Use a pot with >no hole< for the riser/upside down pot and there will be no way in or out for bugs etc.
Kim Dove good tip!
Debra Marks Actually did something like this 2 years ago. Not much room around the edges to plant herbs properly!

Mo Khanzada I recently tried to grow some but horribly failed. the rosemary is thriving tho..
Barbara Ovittore I always had bad luck with rosemary! I start my seeds inside
Terri Phiel I put basil in ice cube trays with as little water as possible--just throw it in sauce when you're ready to use it.
Lauri Wilson if you soak it in salt water before freezing it, it will not turn black. stay green :-)

Tracy Morgan i like this idea. but how heavy would it be?
Sherry Culbertson @tracy, there are light-weight mediums used in these applications, as well as xeriscape plants that don't require a lot of water retention in the soil. If it's going to be installed over any kind of occupied structure, I'd definitely look at hiring a professional to at least review the plan.
