Communication Curiosities by Robin Howie, etapes.com: The original Urinal Fly is attributed to Aad Kieboom, an economist looking to save money at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam who placed images of flies inside men's urinals and reduced spillage by 80% at Schipol Airport, a significant improvement for both customers’ experience as well as janitorial costs. #Psychology #Fly_Urinal #Aad_Kieboom #Economics #Robin_Howie #etapes_com

'Omotenashi' in Japanese means offering a service without expectation of any returned favor, and the ability to actualize that idea into an action. Similar in meaning to 'hospitality' in English, it however arises from a deeper part of human consciousness. by japanwallpaper #Japan #Omotenashi #japanwallpaper

Triggerfish by Sensimed is a smart contact lens embedded with a strain gauge and a wireless MEMS sensor for monitoring intraocular pressure in patients being monitored for glaucoma. (Currently a pressure check entails an office visit and is but a single point in time. In the old days, patients were admitted to the hospital for hourly pressure readings by the hapless resident on call.) It is under clinical trial. #Triggerfish #Sensimed #Glaucoma #Medical_Technology #Contact_Lens

Malinda Mills Deborah...It would probably be dependent on each patient. I've had glaucoma for the past 5+ yrs, and the affected eye seldom, if ever, red/irritated. This probably would have saved my vision as -- even with pressure checks -- my pressure more than doubled at one point and I never felt it.

Profile picture of Georgianna Kent-Mrsny

Profile picture of Karen Lautenschlager

Karen Lautenschlager I have had glaucoma for almost 5 years in just my right eye, crazy thing is it's "low" pressure glaucoma. I had surgery 4 months ago, and I was truly impressed with the surgeon, her knowledge and precision. I can tell my pressure is a little off, so I visited her yesterday to have it checked, and it had dropped 2. Since it is so incredibly important to keep your pressure as stable as possible, a new product that will allow you to know without have the pressure checked at the dr's office would be amazing!

Profile picture of Jane Wang

Jane Wang @Vanessa Roberts: Don't know if this helps: "The machine has a built-in heart rate monitor and on-board computer for tracking your progress, which are all powered by the trainer itself. There’s never any need to plug it into a wall. Unless your home is setup to allow devices to feed electricity back into the grid, since the S770 features an external power inverter that generates electricity from your workout. Apparently up to 2,000 watts during a rigorous session, which can potentially save you thousands of dollars on your power bills if you stay dedicated to using the machine throughout the year." http://tinyurl.com/5r6...
