Rayleen @Joy Serio - pull hair into a ponytail, and, with the hand that is grasping the hair, hold one of the balls tight, closeto the head. use your other hand to wrap the elastic around the shaft of hair until the elastic is tight. Then slip the other ball over the first so that the elastic loops around the first ball. It will hold. Hope that helps.
