Whitney Price I bought myself a basic Kitchenaid after hearing someone comment about how men have no problem dropping $$$100s on power tools they might possibly use once a year, yet women (who still do the preponderance of food preparation) fret over a couple hundred for a tool they will use every.single.day (or close to it). So I bought it, and my mother lamented, "Oh...I always wanted one of those but I never let myself spend the money..." If you want one, get one as soon as you possibly can. I've upgraded mine by now, but I still have the basic one, ready to give to my cooking son. They will last for generations.
