"Steve's idea was to do a Willy Wonka with it. Just as Wonka did in the movie, Steve wanted to put a golden certificate representing the millionth iMac inside the box of one iMac, and publicize that fact. [...] He wanted to meet the lucky winner in full Willy Wonka garb. Yes, complete with top hat and tails." Excerpt from Ken Segall's new book, Insanely Simple: The Obsession That Drives Apple's Success

Apparently companies used to have theme songs back in the day, including Apple. This is from the intro of the Apple IIc in 1984. #apple

Yet another rare and touching photo of a contemplative Steve Jobs on a park bench in Palo Alto. The photo was taken by Ryan Katsanes in 2007.

Incredible video interview with 25 year old Steve Jobs circa 1980. Has this even been seen online before? (just released by the Computer History Museum)

"You tend to get told that the world is the way it is, but life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact; and that is that everything around you that you call life was made up by people no smarter than you … Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again." - Steve Jobs

"Steve Jobs became friends with Miyake and would visit him regularly. He also came to like the idea of having a uniform for himself, both because of its daily convenience (the rationale he claimed) and its ability to convey a signature style. “So I asked Issey to make me some of his black turtlenecks that I liked, and he made me like a hundred of them.” Jobs noticed my surprise when he told this story, so he showed them stacked up in the closet. “That’s what I wear,” he said. “I have enough to last for the rest of my life.”"

David Kinskey-Lebeda Amazing.
In 1999, Steve Jobs was so impressed by Noah Wyle's impersonation of him in The Pirates of Silicon Valley, he invited him on stage to do it at Macworld. He does a pretty great job. This is really heartwarming to watch.

"This was a very typical time. I was single. All you needed was a cup of tea, a light, and your stereo, you know, and that’s what I had.” —Steve Jobs
