Fetching pins…
baby girl That's really cute, but I always heard that you have to be careful which terra cotta pots you use in contact with food. Many of them are imported so they have less stringent standards about lead content...so I have read. You can buy pots which are labeled food safe, however, personally i would be really cautious about using an ordinary clay pot from Walmart or the craft store or even from a garden center. The ones from the garden center could also have come in contact with fertilizers or pesticides in the shop.
Jennifer Soos Yes...I think the full post actually notes that she used silicon pots that came in a "cupcake kit" and were meant for food. And she also mentions the safety concerns for terra cotta...great reminder. I don't think I would use ones for gardening either.
baby girl A lot of people would use whatever they picked up at the store, so I wanted to put it out there.
