Julie Vander Pol it is UBER easy to grow and incredibly hard to kill! we live on a farm and have some growing in some fields and even when we round-up it still keeps coming back year after year!
Sam Morehouse If you plant it though, buy 2 year roots...it is supposed to take 3 years to grow. It is super easy I agree! We have green and purple and love love love it!
Casi Stephenson It takes 3 years to seed out and regrow but asparagus plants live 30 years! It's a patience plant. :)

Leanne Browning I doubt thsi is as easy as it looks!
Karen McClellan The pallet idea was a bust for me. Spent alot of money on soil, tarps and plants
Tiffany Levine Check out Square Foot Gardening. . . Boxes really only have to be one board deep except for root veggies. Save money on wood and soil. And once you've made the soil mix the first year you only have to add compost (1/3 of the mixture) in future years.
Brook Steede The Pioneer Woman has a great step by step on how to make these!
Kathy Herlo my hubby made one over the weekend, runs about $150, and then there is the cost of the dirt, plants, plant food...i just hope i can grow some thing.

Can vinegar really kill weeds? You betcha!
52 likes 10 comments 303 repins
Marci Umatum I can attest to the fact it certainly does kill weeds - the dandelions didn't know what hit them when I zapped 'em with vinegar on a HOT day! :)
Kristine Cheuvront But what about the surrounding grass?
Janis Kristine, it will kill the grass too if you get the vinegar on it. I am using the vinegar/soap mixture right now to kill all the weeds on my mother's gravel driveway. They have taken over since my step-father passed away. Spraying it in the sun definitely helps! One thing I learned is to use a soap that doesn't bubble up as much as others. I use 1 ounce soap to 1 gallon white vinegar.
Jane McClure Am trying this as we speak!
Rosmery Rodriguez Thanks for the info. I am so trying this tomorrow or this week its raining in Florida ;( and I need my sun... Lol.

Robin Raley Great idea, keeps the fruit flies out.
Mary Lou Good idea. I may start composting like this but I think I would make a sleeve to put around the jar - sometimes the sight of food decomposting is not a pretty sight.

Make your own DIY bases for backyard solar lights using .98 cent concrete blocks!

Sheila Evans Bethel Smart idea! We have landscaping crews that come through and have damaged several of ours and our neighbors solar lights. Bet they won't hit a concrete block! Hahaha! (BTW, the link is to the blog itself, not the blog entry. Here's the corrected link, otherwise it will eventually get lost. :-) http://www.campwander.blogs...)
Brenda Mayer You could also paint the blocks to make them look more attractive or blend with the landscaping. Cool!
