Olivia Ingram this was one of my favorite pictures of their garden. It looks like the bottom of a river...leading to the river! genius.
Joani Schofield they are fun to walk on too, although this is the spot we used to use for sledding (always building a little hill at the bottom to avoid sailing into the creek),but the stairs are beautiful and quite practical

Jessica Morreale It took me a second to see what it actually was. Very cool.
Joani Schofield It does take a second look doesn't it? I wonder if it has function as well as form - does it keep the building cooler, for instance?
Zaarly This is cool!
Fetching pins…
Jill Derry is this at McMennamins Edgefield, outside of Portland?
Joani Schofield I clicked on the flickr link and it looks like, yes, it is!
Jill Derry I love that door and the garden is wonderful. Have you been there? It is worth a visit if you ever get to the Portland area. They host a fantastic craft fair in July called "Cracked Pots". Recycled materials are supposed to be used and the vendors are scattered throughout the extensive gardens.
Joani Schofield It looks beautiful and I love a good garden. I will definitely try to go if I am ever in the area (I am not too far away as it is). Thanks for the recommendation :)
