"The Rebel is a key component of all human growth and development. The Rebel in a support group can be a powerful aid in helping the group break out of old tribal patterns. It can also help you see past tired preconceptions in your field of professional or creative endeavor. The Rebel can also lead you to reject spiritual systems that do not serve your inner need for direct union with the Divine and to seek out more appropriate paths." -Caroline Myss

Laurie Perez "ineffable qualities . . . prevent it from being defined or expressed in words. It can, however, be known or experienced."
"No one knows exactly how anesthetics stop nerves from carrying pain signals" - in '07 physicists Jackson + Heimburg rattled the paradigm by proposing that nerves use sound waves rather than electrical impulses to carry out their stories. I read an article about their research in #Wired magazine and have pondered it off and on for years. Neurologists DON'T KNOW how anesthesia works?! How many of our expectations in life are founded on theories and guesses masquerading as solid fact? Keep your mind open, available to discovery like the adventurous spirit you are here to be. We make it up as we go.

not particularly elegant, but certainly whimsical and interesting: swimming pool integrated into living room + kitchen in a #Manhattan townhouse - the swing is winning me over
