Messier 100 (NGC 4321) is an example of a grand design spiral galaxy located within the southern part of constellation Coma Berenices. It is one of the brightest galaxies in the Virgo cluster, about 55 million light years from Earth and has a diameter of 160,000 light years. Five supernovae have been observed in M100 so far: 1901B, 1914A, 1959E, 1979C, and 2006X. Wikipedia

Amazingly, a single day on Venus is longer than its entire year. It takes Venus 243 Earth days to completely rotate on its axis, but just 225 days to orbit the sun. Stranger still, Venus is one of two planets that rotates in reverse, a phenomenon called retrograde motion. Most theories attribute the reverse rotation to an ancient planetary collision.
