Pour some baking soda into a coffee filter, wrap it up with a rubber band and stick it into smelly athletic shoes to absorb the stench. Use a coffee filter to pour oil into your car engine without messy spillage. There are also many interesting crafts and DIY projects on the World Wide Web using coffee filters. One of my favorites being this Anthropology-inspired coffee filter garland by Pam Garrison. In case you run out of dryer sheets and you’re in a pinch, just apply a few drops of fabric softener to a coffee filter, rub the sides together and stick it in the dryer.

It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that don't get opened too often. 4. It repels mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season. 5. Eliminate static electricity from your television (or computer) screen. 6. Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your television screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from resettling.. 7. Dissolve soap scum from shower doors. Vinegar uses: (1) Remove bacteria and pesticide residue from produce - Use 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water, wash produce thoroughly. (2) Clean windows and countertops - Use a 50% water and vinegar mixture to clean windows and countertops. (3) Remove shower and bathtub film - Use vinegar full strength on an old wash rag. (4) Toilet bowl stains - Use white distilled vinegar full strength with a scrubber. (5) Furniture polish - Use a 50% olive oil and vinegar mixture and polish furniture with a soft cloth. Be sure to test furniture in an inconspicuous spot first because vinegar is acidic. (6) Clean microwave - Utilize 1/4 cup of vinegar and 1 cup of water in a bowl. Place in the microwave and cook until boiling. Immediately wipe interior of microwave. (7) Wash no-wax floors - Add 1/2 cup of white distilled vinegar to a half-gallon of warm water. Mop or scrub floor. (8) Clean kitchen cutting boards - Use vinegar full strength on cutting boards. (9) Wash grass stains out of fabric - Use a 1/3 cup vinegar and 2/3 cup water mixture. Apply to stain and blot. (10) Remove molds and mildew - Use a 50% water and white vinegar mixture for light mildew stains, and full strength white vinegar to kill heavier mildew and mold growth.

Ice Proofing the Car Windows with 2/3 Vinegar 1/3 water! Just spray on windows and ice will melt away...first I want to check to make sure this is safe to use on a car.
to get rid of the nasty black gunk in your drain: 1. Put a pot of water to boil. 2. Meanwhile pour baking soda down the drain. Baking soda has the ability to neutralize fatty acids so it will work and eating away the grime while you are waiting for the water to boil. 3. Once the water has reached a rolling boil remove it from the stove and pour it down the drain. 4. Let the water and baking soda work at decomposing and sterilizing the grime for 10 minutes. 5. After 10 minutes has expired pour 1 cup of bleach down the drain to completely kill any remaining mildew or bacteria. Because we use our sinks multiple times on a daily basis I recommend repeating this process every few months. Repeating this process on a regular basis will keep the "creepy black stuff" from accumulating and clogging your sink. It will also keep the nasty mildew smell at bay.
