Civil War Dressing

Nice and warm! Wish they made modern wraps like this!

Oooooh, pretty! They call it a day dress, but I'm thinking it's actually a wrapper. I love the little bows on it!

I like the Greek key pattern of the trim. We did that trim for one of Mom's dresses. Note the black hem guard too - a nice, striking touch.

I like the little jacket... and note the fringe at the top of the sleeves.

Charleybrown Gorgeous!

Very cool trim - Victorians weren't afraid of lots of designs on one dress!

Morning Dress 1852, American, Made of cotton

Who says the Civil War era only wore drab colors? Look at the colors and prints on this bodice! And keep in mind that it's probably faded a little over time! :D

Here's a nice big floral print. Very pretty - and probably rather expensive because larger print fabrics still had to match a the seams - so you had to buy more fabric to match it.

I love the fabric on this dress! (Civil War Day Dresses)

So pretty! (Civil War Day Dresses)

Hand-ruched velvet trim. This is a sharp looking dress. (Civil War Day Dresses)
