octobermoon Forgive me...I have a picture of that discovery in my head and I am chuckling` here!
Wendy Peckham in the 1950's, my parents lived in Camp Hanford, Washington. They had a cat that caught rattlesnakes and scorpions, etc. Some cats are just mongoose-minded.
octobermoon Maybe bringing a snack home for the kiddos...ugh.
Wendy Peckham I hear it tastes just like chicken.

octobermoon He sure doesn't look like he would fit back through the hole he gnawed in the box to get in!
Wendy Peckham And therein lies a cautionary tale for us all... I don't know how the Australians conduct business, but there are places here where he would just be considered a nicely fattened and tender little dinner morsel. They could get some of their own back.
octobermoon Australia has fancy possums. My husband caught one in a live trap outside our house and it had a nasty little rat tail.

Wendy Peckham It should rhyme.
octobermoon The Pledge of Allegiance doesn't rhyme either.
Wendy Peckham But the illustrations on this remind me of a book of Mother Goose Rhymes.
Fetching pins…
Wendy Peckham That giraffe tongue is no joking matter. Very sticky and slimy.
octobermoon Do you have first-hand giraffe tongue knowledge?
Wendy Peckham Richmond's Metro Zoo, Virginia, has an elevated path where the giraffes can nuzzle the pedestrians and steal the alfalfa pellets out of the little paper cups. Giraffes have lovely, expressive eyes and are assumed to be benign because they're herbivores, but they will steal your alfalfa pellets and yes, their tongues are slimy and sticky. Good for gathering leaves, I imagine.
