Put down newspaper instead of that AWFUL black fabric stuff. The newspaper prevents weed seeds from germinating and kills any already there, but unlike fabric, it will decompose after about 18 months. It’s green, it’s cheap, and when you decide to redesign the bed later on, you will not have the headache you would with fabric.

Lisa Zahn you can google, but here's one in New Scientist: http://www.newscientist.com...
Lisa Zahn here's a blog from a doctor, which comes to conclusions prematurely but it does cite the studies and other dr. comments: http://blog.imva.info/medic...
Lisa Zahn and yes, my son was injured by the DPT vaccine in 1997 and now has mild autism. His doctors at the time admitted that the pertussis vax was likely the cause, and that was why the vax was being changed to the DPaT. It is not cut and dried.
Kathleen Quiring Thanks, Lisa! My daughter IS actually vaccinated against pertussis, but I still have doubts and questions . . . I appreciate any and all information from both sides.
Lisa Zahn You are welcome. After my son's reaction at two months, we stopped vaccinating but did then vaccinate both kids to enter kindergarten at age 5. Now that they are teens, we work with our understanding doctor to pick and choose which shots to get.

You can store onions for the winter (up to 8 months) in pantyhose! Tie a knot between onions and you can then clip the knot as you need an onion. Brilliant!

From original pinner: "Unbelievable bread made from only four ingredients and almost no work. You dump in the first three ingredients, add water, mix a bit, let sit overnight, then the next morning, you pretty much toss it in an oven-safe pot and bake. Voila." (I just need one of those fancy pots)

Mandee Pantier Where I live it's rainy 3/4 of the year so going barefoot results in a whole lot of mud. I wear vibram five fingers. It's the closest to barefoot I've found from a shoe, but they are unbelievably expensive.
