How to make a cozy winter felt wreath! Easy DIY! @theinspiredroom
Problem: Chistmas wreaths are expensive. Solution: I have a backyard. Method: 1. Make a grapevine wreath out of simple wild grapevine (if you're not lucky enough to have wild grapes in your backyard, you can get a vine frame at Michael's for about $5). 2. Go to your local pine tree and clip off a few branches. Scrounge below for a few durable-looking pinecones. Locate some medium-gauge wire in your garage. 3. Arrange the pine snippets to taste in the grapevine frame. Wire in the pine cones, preferably so the appreciative spectator can't see the wire. If you live in a high-wind area, wire in the main pine stems as well. 4. Cut an eighteen-inch section of wire and twist a good-size loop in the middle of it. Twist the ends well into the wreath. Pound a nail into your door where you want the wreath to hang. Hang the wreath on the door. Voila. Bonus: Once you have the frame, this is a wreath for all seasons. Remove the pine boughs when you're done, and in the spring, fill the frame with budding apple boughs or pussy willows. Any durable and dried summer flower would make a great filling, such as echinacea, sunflower, strawflower, or gerardia; in fall, autumn leaves and cattail make a great wreath. Experiment:)!
