Tips about ovens and how to use them so that they don't cause a bunch of money. 1.) DO NOT line the racks with tin foil or anything else- it blocks the air flow. 2.) Unless, baking (i.e. cookies, cakes, pies), there is NO NEED to preheat the oven ahead of time. Stick the pork chops right in! 3.) Only use glass or ceramic dishes in the oven. They heat better and more thorough than anything else. 4.) If cooking more than one dish, STAGGER them on the racks to optimize air flow. Also cook more than one dish if possible. 5.) Try NOT to OPEN the oven door. Every time you do, the temperature inside drops 25 degrees! Use an oven light or clean the see through glass door (if yours has one). 6.) When cleaning the oven, CHECK the seals around the door for cracks or tears because anything other than a seamless seam will allow air and heat to escape, costing you more in the long run!
