Gelynne Smallwood Julie Z. I agree that there aren't any websites truly "safe" for kids, and my kids are well aware of trash talk, but we were hoping that Pinterest would not get trashy! I guess I think we should hold the bar a little higher. The nice thing about this country is that I have the right to ask for cleaner, better crafted expression of language and you have the right to call that request silly : ) I hear what you are saying, but I don't believe that it is a censorship issue, for me it is a quality issue and it was just a request.

Julie Ziesemann I get it. I have three kids myself. One who is 13 and on pinterest. To be honest, I am *much* more concerned about all of the pro anorexia pins than bad language. I started leaving comments on them as well one day....and then I realized that it truly was a lost cause. There are too many people here. So...instead of wasting my time leaving comments that would fall on deaf ears....I decided to take control of what I could. I had a very important talk with my daughter about anorexia and about the pins I was seeing. It led to a great discussion that probably wouldn't have happened in the same way otherwise. Take charge of what you can control....because pinterest is not "yours" if you know what I mean. Not trying to be argumentative. And I do empathize with what you are saying.

Renee's Soirees No kidding... my 12 yo dropped her phone in the middle of the desert & it was on silent. We had to wait until it got dark, then we called it & it lit up!
Debbie Kellman There is an App called "Shush" where you can have your phone go silent for a determined amount of time only. It comes in very handy because I used to forget to turn it back on too.
Katherine Richter Theres also an app where you can text your phone if that happens and it will turn up the ring volume so you can find it.
