I have been wanting to make a 'blankety thing' of yarn for some time now. I gathered together some very brightly coloured yarns and then had to decide what sort of pattern to do - and whether or not to knit or crochet. I actually did 3 knitted squares before deciding crochet was the way to go. I'm following the 'Neat Ripple' pattern of Lucy at Attic 24, and a friend and I have gone to a 'Knit & Natter' group at a local museum.

Made as a gift for my Mum for Mother's Day 2009. All the fabric was thrifted - the print was just 25 pence for a huge piece (from a jumble sale). Thankfully, Mum loved it.

Still trying to learn about making bags; thrifted fabric doesn't feel so much of a 'waste' if things don't go well.
