29. An extra day under the sun, our yellow dwarf star that we learn to draw happy and yellow because it appears yellow to us on earth (this is a false color image). The sun is actually white. On we all go - leaping or spinning, whatever the number on the day or how the stars appear to us off the back porch.

28. In 1787, botanist William Curtis published The Botanical Magazine or Flower-Garden Displayed. Project Gutenberg has the whole book online (not letting me pin from there for some reason) complete with scans of Curtis' water color plates: www.gutenberg.org... . And author Karen Rivers has me seeing daffodil-yellow with this post: www.karenrivers.c...

21. This is Maria Popova and Brain Pickings. Follow her on her blog, on twitter, on @Maria Popova here at pinterest. Just follow her. And send her money. Lots of money. Or a little. Buy her a coffee via her donate button because she'll educate you more than most degrees on the planet. Buy her six or seven coffees. Or an expensive dinner. This is what the net was made for and sites like Brain Pickings don't exist without enormous effort. Long may she reign.

12. Rafael Lozano-Hemmer Tape Recorders: "Rows of motorised measuring tapes record the amount of time that visitors stay in the installation. As a computerised tracking system detects the presence of a person, the closest measuring tape starts to project upwards. When the tape reaches around 3m high it crashes and recoils back." Follow the link for a video of the installation.

11. Remembering TV show: Pushing Daisies - instant life and death, pie, dogs, gumshoes, pie makers, love stories, mysteries, pie shops, saturated colors, bees, diminutive broadway belters as former jockeys, did I mention pie? It's true. When it comes to television shows and quirky scripts, only the good die young.
