Your kid's teacher or a coworker What You'll Need A set of white mugs Carbon paper Pebeo Porcelaine 150 black broad-tip paint marker ($5 at dickblick.com) How to Make Them 1. Print templates from the link below. (If drawing freehand, cut out the designs and tape to mugs to determine placement before starting to draw.) 2. Tape carbon paper to the mug and then attach template over carbon paper. Trace the design with a pencil. This will leave a carbon outline on the mug for you to sketch over with the paint pen (you can dust off the carbon afterward). 3. As you draw, take care not to smudge the paint. If you make a mistake, quickly wipe away the paint with a wet paper towel, or wait for it to dry and scrape it off with a razor blade. The paint is nontoxic, so you can add a complementary design to the inside of the mug. Let dry for 24 hours. 4. To make the mugs dishwasher-safe, place them in a cold oven, turn to 300 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 30 minutes. Allow to cool before removing.
