Non-toxic homemade Goo Gone

Add orange peels (or any citrus peel) to a quart of white vinegar in a closed container and let it set for two weeks. Combine citrus/vinegar solution half/half with water and use for cleaning. Works on floors, tile, fixtures, etc. Smells good and is tough on scum! Best of all there are no chemicals.

Valerie Guidry that's awesome!

Gonna try, homemade spot treatment/miracle cleaner ~ as a warning don't let it sit to long on fabric before rinsingor the peroxide WILL bleach out the fabric.

Samantha Johnston I've been using this for about a month now and it is AMAZING!

Trying this right now!

homemade bleach cool BUT MUST BE STORED IN A DARK CONTAINER!!! There is a reason why peroxide comes in a dark brown container as well as why nearly all stain treaters come in solid plastic containers. Light degrades peroxide turning it into plain old water after a while.

Mieander I was awfully disappointed, you should try a small batch first. The homemade laundry soap was much better.

Martha Stewart's Tub Scrub--works better than any other cleaning product to get off hard water and soap residue.

DIY fabric softener

Sprinkle a little on the shirt’s underarms and collar, then iron to prevent sweat stains on white shirts. The powder forms a barrier that keeps oil and grime from seeping into the threads.

Take your favorite liquid fabric softener and soak an old hand towel or flour cloth completely with it. Wring it out and let it dry completely, then throw it in with your next load. This mega-fabric softener sheet should be good for at least 40 loads of laundry, stretching out softener use and lessening waste.

Take a spray bottle, fill it about 1/8th full with rubbing alcohol, add a drop of Dawn dishwashing soap, a few drops of scented oil (optional, but makes it smell so good), fill the rest of the way with water, shake together, and you're good to go! It makes your granite (or any countertop) shine and feel so smooth at a fraction of the price~I have loved it and use it on my appliances as well. \
