On March 21st, 2011 Bruce Rosenberg was diagnosed with stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma. One of the first things that came to mind was 'have ice cream for breakfast'. It was a mantra of sorts, a metaphor for living. Bruce wanted people to think of this day as a "An affirmation that everyone will vow to live life and not take even the small things for granted". It's a long exposure shot with sparklers :) All they had to do was stand there very still and someone else ran around them with a sparkler. it's like a fairy tale!
