STM Skinny Case for iPad2 (dp-2189-01) More of a mommy or daddy case due to lack of ruggedness, but this case is very highly rated (www.ilounge.com/...) on many sites and extremely slim. It is offered in iPad2 and new iPad versions. Retails for $40 but can be found for less www.amazon.com/...
STM Grip ($44.99) CNET review: recommended (also recommended by iLounge) the Grip from Australian company STM soft-to-the-touch exterior, slim, feels nice in your hand, and its ribbed design makes it easy to "grip." It has the automatic wake feature, but the real extra is the integrated kickstand on the back that allows you to prop you iPad up in typing or video watching positions. Like the Zaggfolio, it is NOT going to be rugged for kids. If you need a rugged case and a keyboard, I'd go with a rugged case plus a bluetooth keyboard/stand (like Apple bluetooth keyboard plus the Incase Origami Workstation).

I recommend this stand or something similar for any case without a stand. Most kids should be using and viewing these devices at an angle. Will work with just about any case, including Gum Drop Drop Tech (my favorite rugged case) and Otter Box) and has non-slip material on the bottom and on the part the device rests against. LOVE IT.

Trident Kraken for iPad 2 (around $40) Nice case w/incorporated screen protector (one piece with front of case). Because case clips together as front and back with 2 clips at top of device, I would be reluctant to recommend it to kids with behavior challenges or nimble fingers that might like to remove a case. It also may dislodge if a clip happens to get hit on impact on a drop. Might be a nice case for a teacher or other adult, though. Good price point, nice feel, and decent protection.

($29.99) Not really a case, but a cool option, especially for kids who need to be positioned on the floor. I might have at least a thin silicone case to protect the device before putting in the CushPad, but haven't tried that yet, so I'm not sure it would work.

Ekto2 for iPad2. Nice thick silicone option if you want a silicone case only but are looking for something more rugged than the typical silicone case. Keep your eyes out for the Flex system coming out to go along with this product. Looks amazing!

Awesome keyboard case. I've had many and gotten rid of many. This keyboard is close to full-size. It will NOT do a spectacular job protecting the iPad, though. In addition, it only supports the device in horizontal position and does not swivel to vertical position. If you need rugged protection or the ability to use vertical or horizontal placement, I'd go with perhaps the Gumdrop and a separate keyboard like the Apple Bluetooth keyboard with the Incase Origami Workstation or the Zagg Flex Portable Keyboard and Stand www.zagg.com/...

Pretty cool and unique case. Not sure how the edge "rails" will hold up to a lot of yanking or carrying, but it grips the iPad 2 well. Definitely a cool idea that's likely to great for little hands or larger hands. Like the Big Grips case, this one smells very strongly (at least at first), so if there are sensory issues or headaches, be careful.

Although it doesn't lend itself as perfectly to being used with my favorite Arkon travel stand, I'm finding I really like this unique case. It's super convenient to grap a handle and GO! Also, even if you leave the device face-down, the screen never touches surface and it stays put nicely in the case.
M-Edge SuperShell ($29.99) I really like this cool and protective case. It feels pretty nice in your hands, feels sturdy and is fun looking. There is no stand (though it seems to be standing on its own in this shot). Of course, most rugged cases come without a stand. I like the Arkon portable fold-up stand. ($49.95) Protective case and stand for our tiniest users or those that need a lot of protection. Kind of tough to stand well at an angle but great for some kiddos. Does have a smell for quite some time if there are sensory or headache issues. Take it out of the box right away and it will air out after a while.

**GumDrop Drop Tech ** ($60.00) I'm a BIG fan of this iPad 2 case. Far less bulky than Otterbox & Griffin Survivor, but still protective & includes a removable/replaceable screen protector. It's available on many sites, but PowerMax sells it if you're looking for somewhere that accepts POs. No included stand. Opening for the charger at the bottom is small. Some third party chargers and most charging docks will likely not work. Awesome with Arkon Travel Stand.

Otterbox Defender ($89.95 but you can find it cheaper) - rugged iPad case (available for iPad 1 and 2). Very popular and protective. The hard plastic protective cover for transport is a separate piece and can also act as a stand. For some students, this is great, for others, it's a hassle.
