Did you know that you're supposed to put bobby pins in with the zig zag side against your head? No wonder mine always fall out!?!

Kathryn Sands what!? i've had it all wrong!
Put the headband on top of your hair (while your hair is down) and then grab your hair at the back and tuck it into the headband. The messier the better!
Loosely braid the back of hair, leaving a few strands out in the front. Bring two tiny strands from the front and pin in place in the back {tucking ends and pins under hair to hide}.
Loosely braid both sides of hair {use elastic to hold braids separately}. Tie together in back {tuck ends under for a more finished look or to hide elastic bands}. Pin in place.
Braid both sides of your hair far enough that the braids meet in the back of head. Tie each braid separately with elastic. Now, take all of your hair and twist into a bun, making sure the ends of the braids are hidden under the bun. Tie with an elastic band or pin bun in place.

Start this braid on the right, top side of the head. Wrap the braid around and hide the end under the start of the braid. Pin entire braid in place.

The trick is to keep it a bit messy...makes it look more natural.
