A garage sale mixer, Goodwill tin platter, and dish passed down to my grandmother brings a little color and warmth to my white kitchen.

An old camel saddle found at a junk shop for $20 makes a great foot rest for the den.

With peeling paint and tons of 'laugh lines' she only wanted to be photographed at night. She's feeling much more confident since her nip & tuck.

The inside of our old dryer vent hole turned mouse house before we decorated it. Oh yeah, we decorated it!

When a swath had to be cut through our driveway to replace the 80 year old water lines, we took advantage by also burying our phone and electric cables. That really cleaned up the look of the house, but we weren't sure what to do about the driveway. Concrete was expensive, so we gathered local rocks and made path. Eventually it will lead to an arbor across from my kitchen window.

Vintage wall covering left from the original owner gets a new lease on life with junkshop prints and a goodwill mirror.

A window box just outside of an easily opened bathroom or kitchen window would be easy to take care of with "gray water".

We know that English Ivy grows well in Quanah, Texas! (Just look behind Security Bank for an example. It even seems to be pretty drought tolerant.) Ivy kept trimmed away from windows and roof lines would be great for covering up a cracked or ugly wall. (Just make sure the wall is in good repair before planting.) Water and fertilize to get best results.

I like potted mums for fall porch decorating because they can be replanted in the garden bed after the blooms die out. You really get your money's worth that way!

Try scheduling family pictures at your own house. It makes for more personal, and relaxed family photos. (Plus you get to show off your vintage green glass lamps that you scored from Goodwill for 5 bucks each.!)

After the worst drought in Texas history, we chose to do our family photos inside! Kind of cool to have them taken on our very own couch, in our very own house. :-)

Erica Thomas One of my fav quotes
Anna Poole Off topic, but I noticed a bit ago that you have several pins of Shaw's farm sinks. I love mine and will never go back to a sink with a divider again. And yeah, TJ was right!
Erica Thomas Lucky you!! We are moving and that's the sink I want in a new house. Glad you are giving a thumbs up review, now I want it more! :)
Fetching pins…
Erica Thomas Woohoo!
