Cool the kids off with a homemade sprinkler. Take a 2 liter soda bottle, poke holes in it. Attach to a garden hose via a male to male adapter that cost less than $5 at Lowes. Toss over a tree branch and let hang. You can adjust how the water sprinkles by adjusting the water flow. When the bottle gets stupid, just switch it out.

All you need is some watercolor paper and tubes of watercolor paint. Let the dots dry and then you have portable watercolors for the kids, just add a watery brush (or cotton swab) and presto!

{Clothes Pin Match} I love the simplicity of this. As well as how inexpensive it would be to do ... love any material in a program that can be used in multiple open ended ways!

This is the BEST BEST BEST play dough recipe you will ever find - I have used it for 8 years in my classroom. The kids absolutely love it. The recipe on this link is for a small batch - here is the classroom size batch, and we use a bit of baby oil in it as well to add a really smooth and soft texture. Parents rotate and bring us new play dough every week. The recipe: 4 cups water, 4 cups flour, 1 cup salt, 2 tablespoons cooking oil, 4 teaspoons cream of tartar, food coloring. Combine ingredients. Cook, stirring constantly, until most of the moisture is absorbed. Store in a covered container or Ziploc – does not need refrigeration. Add a bit of baby oil to get a softer texture.

Adrianne - Little Bluebell Isn't that a cute idea? I've got tons of kid art and I never know what to do with it.

This girl had the BEST IDEA!!! She said, "My son is in preschool and the adorable art work is pouring in. I know he isn't going to want all these old papers when he is older so I am taking a picture of everything, keeping my very favorites to display at holidays or in a scrapbook and everything else just has to go. I found this amazing idea for displaying his artwork using the photos I have taken.
