As we enter the cold, dreary Maryland winter, locally available flowers and branches tide me over until Spring. Take a look at some of what could be available in Maryland in January!
Ornamental cabbage comes in this purple and also a pretty pink and white. Some blooms are big-like a cabbage. Others are small and petite-good for bouquets and small arrangements.

Seaberry Farm has these "walking sticks" available in January. I love them so much! They are craggly and have a ton of visual interest.

oh quince...how I love you! Branches filled with the most beautiful, corally blooms. They are great on their own in tall arrangements.

Snapdragons are some of my favorite flowers. They come in all sorts of beautiful colors and can be tall (4ft!) or short (6-8 inches).

Lilies come in lots of different colors-many are bi-color and multi-colored. Some are highly fragrant.
