Pinterest is an online pinboard.
Organize and share things you love.
PLEASE people, KEEP THE ARTIST'S NAME ON THE PIN. It's very rude to delete it when you repin. Especially when the pin originally HAS the artist's name, and someone goes to the trouble of REMOVING it. Why would you do that? Give credit where credit is due. (Climbing down off my little soapbox now.)

This is really easy. Mix a leeeeetle bit of mica powder (Pearlex, Perfect Pearls, loose pigment or mineral eye shadow!) with a little Pledge with Future Shine floor finish. Paint (or drop) on a sheet of raw clay. Allow to dry. Then run through the pasta machine 2 or three sizes thinner, rotating so it crackles both directions if desired. Then cut shapes/strips, assemble (maybe on a backing sheet of clay) and bake! A coat of Renaissance Wax or Future will protect it.

Anna Jour's hollow bead - use paper tissues for the base - make a tight paper ball , then cover with clay, make holes and bake. After baking soak the beads in water and remove the paper using a skewer or a needle, or a crochet hook.

"Reaching for the sun" necklace by Wandie Ortiz. Not a tutorial as such rather an explanation of how her finished product resembles ceramic glazes. Wandie says, "I specialize in painting on polymer clay ... This is accomplished by applying alcohol inks (which is a dye), and alcohol medium, and painting directly onto polymer clay with a brush. Liquid clay is added to seal the color and heat as many times as needed to get the desired look I want." Fabulous I think!

Ronni Rittenhouse Would be great as ear pokey thingies!
by Karen Sexton ... Quick how to tutorial.says that these luminous polymer clay pins she just finished are the result of a simple process. She lightly painted Pinata inks on thin alternating layers of translucent and pearl clay and stacked the layers. She impressed the stack with various tools, mokume gane style. Thin slices of the resulting cane were applied to a pearl backing to create the pins.

Fetching pins…
kate tracton I am the artist who made this bead - I BOUGHT this tutorial from Janice Abarbanel. She and I are very upset that these instructions are published as this is a copyright infringement. I ask that you delete them from this pin. Thank you.
Heidi McCullough The instructions did not come from Janice. They came from here, published nearly five years ago. http://mossyowls.blogspot.c... However, they did not come with the original pinning of this image, so delete if you wish.
