MargieAnalise I second that! The ultimate never-giver-upper!

I'm not overly religious, but I would invite Jesus, because there's so many questions he could answer.

I sometimes imagine taking Benjamin Franklin on a tour of present-day America. I'd like to see his delight at the many inventions that follow his genius. Here's an example - "Fireplaces were the main source of heat in the 18th century. Most were very inefficient, produced a lot of smoke, and the heat went right out the chimney. Sparks in the home were of great concern because they could cause a fire. The new stove allowed for a more efficient fire, one that used one quarter as much wood and generated twice as much heat. When offered a patent for the fireplace's design, Benjamin Franklin turned it down. He wanted all people to benefit from his invention."

Rhonda Hurwitz HA! I have imagined the same thing. Giving him a guided tour of the technological and social changes. Great minds:)

Profile picture of Mark Johnson FAIA

Mark Johnson FAIA Thanks Rhonda! I've thought the same thing about Thomas Edison but Franklin was such a renaissance man and seems like he'd be a jolly companion.

Not only because she was an amazing movie star, but also because she was a great philanthropist.

Stephen Dimmick I can't argue with your taste in men, sistah!

Malcolm Gladwell. Literary genius; author of "The Tipping Point" & "What the Dog Saw". How do ideas become viral? He knows. Why was 'that other guy' who said "The British are coming!" ignored, and Paul Revere taken seriously? He knows. How the heck does Cesar Milan connect so well with dogs? He knows!

John Lennon. If I could choose an artist to co-write my life, it would be him.

My grandfather. I found we had a lot in common as I grew up and I'd want to talk about our alma mater!

Lois Long, aka Lipstick, would be my first choice because she covered the New York nightlife scene long before characters like Carrie Bradshaw were created. She was a big name in American history during the 1920s.

Profile picture of Ashley Laurel

Ashley Laurel Thanks for the blog suggestion! I'm VERY into 1920s history and a dream of mine would be to write a column like Lipstick did.

Ryan Hoyle, Former drummer for Collective Soul. Amazing talent, hot and humble! After seeing him in concert with Collective Soul, I was inspired to take my first drum lessons - something I'd been wanting to do since I was 18!

Lynn Gosselin Inviting him to an actual dinner would be kinda scary. I would be worried about the type of food I was serving him! Maybe invite him to a meditation session? :)

MargieAnalise Maybe he could meditate while we eat ;)

Susan Baucom recently saw him on Dr Oz...
