The Tabula Peutingeriana, known also as the Peutinger Map, depicts the road network of the Roman Empire. Named after a 15th-16th century humanist called Konrad Peutinger, the map spans Europe, India, and North Africa. It currently resides at the National Library in Vienna, Austria.

Painting with gravity: The artist doesn’t use a paintbrush, and instead squirts paint from a plastic bottle on the canvas, carefully monitoring the slowly spreading drip of the fresh paint. With a series of twists, turns, and handheld manipulation, she paints here a vision of two vastly different places–Toronto and Peru–in one coherent composition.
