This chandelier was inspired by the wedding cake or waterfall chandeliers of the 1920's or Art Deco period. The base of the chandelier is a 15" 16mm vintage film take up reel that has an intricate design and amazing metal patina. From this reel vintage keys hang from reclaimed galvanized chain of varying lengths that showcase the wedding cake or waterfall design. The keys are vintage of various origins such as house, automobile and lock keys. Each key was chosen for its aesthetic quality. The socket is also reclaimed but only the outer shell of the socket was used with new insides and parts in order not to compromise the safety of the fixture. The cord is rayon covered reproduction lamp wire in a length of 12' used to provide a nod to the inspiration time period. The lamp socket is also stainless with a turn switch for on and off. The chandelier can also be hardwired into any home. The hook at the top of the chandelier can be used to attach the chandelier to an existing hook, or chain in order to provide more length to the chandelier. The center prisms date from the 1920's and are 6" long and are made of lead crystal. Overall length is 32" from top hook to bottom prism teardrops base. This chandelier is based on a classic design but updated with a sleek modern metal industrial feel.
