Mr. Sumo Cup thinks he is in Kyoto but he is just standing in front of a print we have by K. Nishijima that I bought in Tokyo.

This is Mr. Sumo Cup. This is the only one I have - a sample from years past. He's my favorite and he sits on my desk. I think he needs to see the world. Or at least just past my desk...

Although I like little delicate tea cups as much as the next girly girl, when I'm up for some serious tea drinkin' with elbows on the table 'n all slouchy, I'll be grabbing for one of these great big sturdy porcelain boulder tea mugs. I'll be graceful when there's company, k? For now, give me a BIG mug of TEA.

tokyo-based design practices worklounge 03- and OUVI have shared with us images of 'SHN', a two-storey private dwelling in a commuter's suburb in nagoya city, japan. drawing from the nature of the site, the design seeks to create a series of interconnected spaces by arranging its interior layout in a way that resembles a necklace.
