The chapter on HR remains my favorite. Clearly I got out of doing HR just in time, because I never had to ask anyone "is this your penis."

So. Much. Pretty. I'm glad I have a protective screen on my iPad so I can just wipe the drool off.

Even if you're not a knitwear designer, there's a lot to offer in this book for the creative business owner, from effective social media use, to contracts and copyright, and much, much more. We're doing a sale this week in honor of Tax Day in the US (I wrote the book, so I'm biased, but based on its reviews I think most people agree it's super-helpful). You might also want to check out our forthcoming Market Yourself by Tara Swiger if you're a creative business person.

Extreme Double Knitting by Alasdair Post-Quinn, Cooperative Press. It's a brain-bender!
Smart, well-paced mystery that I find a refreshing change from series about protagonists who wear black denim jeans with sneakers.

"Discount Armageddon" by Seanan McGuire. Hate the cover, first 3 chapters feel like a Buffy rip-off (but a good one!), and I keep thinking it should be set in 1996.

Bel Canto by Ann Patchett - read this years ago and loved it; thinking about reading it again to see if I still love it as much as I did then.

Smart, not-entirely-charming heroine. Mid-century England. A murder.
In the Kitchen with a Good Appetite. I have a massive crush on Melissa Clark thanks to this book. The raw Tuscan kale salad! The Garlicky Sesame-Cured Broccoli! The Crème Brûlée French Toast with Orange Blossom Water! The recipes can be found online at NYTimes.com but I like having them all in one place.

A pretty neat way to learn about economic theory (and the relationship advice is pretty good too).

Okay, so, HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS SERIES UNTIL LAST WEEK?!? No, really.
Sunshine, by Robin McKinley. A smart, funny, thoughtful take on vampire stories - so much so that I don't understand why a certain poorly written and badly edited series has done so well while this has been available!

Patrice Walker Sounds intriguing!
M.K. Carroll @Patrice Walker, I just started the third book in the series, thanks to the public library.
