First column-Artist. Next column-Writer. (To avoid tangential problems, we made a simple object and started with only 1 color of play-doh until we were revising, where they shared/traded with a neighbor.) Use a wipes case for a sensory discovery box to teach about 5 senses.

I love this idea. Start a savings shadow box with a picture of what they're saving for. This would also be cool for the kids, to teach them to save for something.
