Apply also a specific strengthen nail polish: it's not too much important the brand (please do not look at the cost...) what is important is that the product has a weekly plan with one nail polish for the first day and another type to apply all days (with or without the colored nail polish). You might need some weeks before to see the difference...

Liz Grimes i tried this and it turned out AWESOME. i now have matte nails in gunmetal gray. i used pigments for soap making though. you can get them super cheap, and most are safe for cosmetics!

Wendy Flores I couldn't find a matte black but I did find a matte "top coat" from Essie. After polishing the nails, apply the matte top coat. Once semi-dry, make the smile line and do not apply any top coat to that. Looks great!
