If you have some shoes that rub on your ankles, don't reach for the bandaids. Reach for some Vasoline/Petroleum Jelly of your choice. Rub a little amount on your ankle where the back of your shoe will touch. Don't put too much or it will get on your shoes. This trick is amazing because it really really really works!

If you wrap your celery in tin foil before placing it in the fridge it will last for weeks, and it will still be fresh and crisp when you pull it out! This also works for stored broccoli for 7 weeks wrapped in tin foil, and heads of lettuce for at least 6 weeks!!!

Instead of using extra laundry detergent to pre-treat, instead we turn to our old school friend - white chalk. Simply rub onto greasy stains and the chalk powder will absorb the grease, making the stain easily removable by the laundry soap in the wash.

Peppermint oil: homemade insect repellent. Smells great, it's easy, cheap, green and you can use on pets too. I am totally trying this this year!!
Cleaning fruit - fill sink with water, add 1 C. vinegar, mix. Add all fruit and soak for 10 minutess. Water will be dirty and fruit will sparkle with no wax or dirty film. Great for Berries too--keeps them from molding.

Remove a splinter with baking soda is best for tiny, invisible splinters. Using a baking soda paste it will cause the skin to swell and push the splinter out.

MAKE MASCARA LAST 3X LONGER!! A typical mascara dries out before half of it is used. When your favorite mascara starts getting dry, add 4-5 drops of saline solution or eyedrops to the bottle. Insert your wand and stir and TA-DA!! Fresh mascara! This can be repeated 2 or 3 times until all you mascara is gone.
