Add orange peels (or any citrus peel) to a quart of white vinegar in a closed container and let it set for two weeks. Combine citrus/vinegar solution half/half with water and use for cleaning. Works on floors, tile, fixtures, etc. Smells good and is tough on scum! Best of all there are no chemicals.

These lemon dust cloths take just minutes to prepare and can be stored in an airtight jar until you're ready to use them. Sometimes dusting with a dry cloth does more harm then good as it moves the dirt around instead of catching it. These cloths are damp and infused with vinegar to help catch and kill the bugs at the same time. The addition of olive oil and lemon rind bring a soft polish to your furniture.

Take a spray bottle, fill it about 1/8th full with rubbing alcohol, add a drop of Dawn dishwashing soap, a few drops of scented oil (optional, but makes it smell so good), fill the rest of the way with water, shake together, and you're good to go! It makes your granite (or any countertop) shine and feel so smooth at a fraction of the price. Another pinner states: I have loved it and use it on my appliances as well.

YES! Rice is a miracle worker. I dropped my phone brand new Galaxy Nexus in a puddle for almost 10 minutes. What I thought was a total loss turned out to be a complete miracle. Took it apart, dried what I could, turned it back on....not working. So, I covered it in a sealed container overnight of rice and orzo. Woke up this morning, all is well with my phone. Either the design of the Samsung phone, the design of the rice, or both, is a brilliant solution, I am not sure. I do know, before you throw out your water logged phone, try rice. You can read the details of how to do it in this post.

Best way to clean cast iron: Scrub it w/ coarse salt and a soft sponge. The salt, a natural abrasive, absorbs oil & lifts away bits of food while preserving the pan's seasoning. Rinse away salt & wipe dry.
