'Alaska' nasturtium. Variegated edible leaves and flowers. Taste peppery. Very easy to grow from seed.
A little bit of a stretch here, but arugula is really a salad green. The flowers are edible and taste like arugula! Who knew?

Angelica in bloom in June. I call this a big babe herb. It can be about six feet by six feet when it gets going. It self-sows and can be a problem. Watch out on a sunny, hot day. If you are photosensitive, stay away from this plant.

Sweet Woodruff in May. Perennial in many parts of the US. Likes shade. Dried leaves smell like vanilla. It does make a great ground cover as you may be able to see.

An edible flower called 'Lemon Gem' marigold. A signet type marigold. Eat only the petals and only organically grown flowers. If you don't know what it is or how it was grown, don't eat it!

This is either 'Strawberries 'n Cream' or 'Peaches 'n Cream' nasturtium. They are edible flowers and leaves. The flowers can be used as cups for guacamole as a lunch or appetizer. An annual that lasts until frost. Ours seem to like some shade in the afternoon particularly in a hot year.

Pattie These are so pretty! I have several but not this color, its lovely.
Nancy Heraud I think they are fairly easy to find as seeds and very easy to plant once the frost warnings are gone. I'm not sure where you are but if you are in the northern part of the US, May 15 and later.
Nancy Heraud You're in Hawaii. You lucky lady! You can probably plant them now!
'Frans Hals' daylily. Another edible flower. Remove the reproductive parts in the center and use it as a cup for chicken salad or for ice cream in a wine or champagne flute.
'Jacob Kline' bee balm. A favorite of the hummingbirds. Needs full sun and gets about 4 feet in the garden. An edible flower and the leaves are great in tea.

Fetching pins…
Sheri Gramer Actually mine in MI always looked fab in the summer, I had it planted under my fence in the shade.
Nancy Heraud I think MI may be a little cooler than PA? Maybe.
Sheri Gramer Well its definitely cooler than TN! :) Miss lots of herbs that did well in MI but not in TN
Nancy Heraud A master gardener from a local extension office may be able to help with a list of herbs that would work for you.
Sheri Gramer I am a master gardener, for 20 years. I own a retail garden shop, and do garden segments for local tv, I was just stating that some herbs do not do as well in the hot, muggy southern summers.
