Patrick That's a common practice and personally I don't take offense by that. Basically everyone does this - this is what keeps awesome web applications free; BUT the article above deals with a real issue: your work can get "abused". For example: a photographer uses Pinterest to promote his photos. Pinterest can make a rainbow in a $ 1.000 shot and use it how they want to, c.f. sell it for more cash, use it in commercials, etc. Like the article states, they simple have to narrow down what their own rights are - at the moment this is way too much.

Patrick @Shana Fowler I enjoy Pinterest and I know that there's nothing for free, but if I'd take the whole cake there would be nothing to enjoy for the rest. I think such a meta posting in the system itself is the perfect spot to get opinionated. Pinterest doesn't make use of their position right now, but this doesn't mean that they shouldn't fine tune their legal documents. Basically being able to resell a members artwork without permission is called theft in the real world. No one likes that.
