oh my gosh ... ok so contemporary? maybe .. the black sashing is so unusual - i love it! and it's wider than normal and she did little squares in the corners. Love, love, love it!

Jovita @ peawink you're welcome gayle! just wanted to show that all things are possible, and there IS a lot of satisfaction in hand piecing.

Jeepers ... it's Jane! This contemporary version of a Dear Jane quilt is made from hand dyed cotton fabrics set on a multi-color batik background.  The appliqué blocks are satin stitched and enhanced with 73 different decorative machine stitches.

caution: best viewed from a distance! but .. vertical lines in a different color, weaving with horizontal lines of another color .. @Maria White

and then there's this idea .. hmm, so many ideas, but i'm definitely looking for something other than "ordinary" for setting my blocks. @Maria White

if you get sick of making jane blocks this sure would be a cool way of helping those little blocks into a bigger quilt - and very effectively! @Maria White

ok .. so seriously .. wouldn't this be a cool setting for Jane?? planning backgrounds of the blocks so that each square here was made up of 4 jane blocks .. can you picture that? @Maria White - deb is doing black & whites .. can't you just see this?

new fabrics for my Contemporary Jane and the perfect basket for this project .. a medium market from Longaberger - thanks @Maria White

Maria White Did you see the price per fat? Over $4.

Profile picture of Jovita @ peawink

Jovita @ peawink yes, they are very expensive - personally i find it ridiculous but they have a name and people will pay it :(

"Innocent Crush Bee" by Anna Maria Horner .. would make a great Contemporary Jane!

a lot of white - is the sashing wider? the blocks "softer" ... I love the outcome and that she made an "original" border

Jovita @ peawink I know that deb is planning on a black background .. will have to make sure she sees this :)
