Christie Kiley This is why the Sleepsack Swaddle is awesome. We used it with our baby when he was still young enough to swaddle, and it kept him warm during the winter because it's a wearable blanket, too. It's actually approved as "hip healthy" by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. Here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/Sleep...

Anyone with feedback? We would love to make improvements to the app based on your suggestions (for example, adding an age adjuster for preemies). Any suggestions for both additions to the free version or even features you would pay for? Also, if do you like our app, we humbly request you log into the App Store and "rate" TxTools for us, or better yet, write a one sentence review. Thanks for everything! - Heidi

QUESTION ABOUT KINESIOTAPING from a parent: I recently saw a posting from your site regarding Kinesio taping. I see many people at the gym with the tape and never thought about using it for my son who has low muscle tone in his trunk. I was wondering if the tape with help improve his muscle tone and overall posture?

Starfish Therapies Kinesiotaping can work with kids who have low tone. I would have a pediatric PT or OT apply it and show you how to use it so that you can carry it over. Of course as with every thing its best to trial it to see if it helps your son and if he tolerates it. But to answer your question yes it can be effective for kiddos with low muscle tone.

Profile picture of Alyson Knappe Davis

Alyson Knappe Davis I agree with the above. Our PTs and OTs have used kinesiotape on my son for a number of years with good results. We've used it on his trunk (mostly back muscles, but also side) for posture, tone, and stability; and also on his hands to help stretch/open his very clenched fists and adducted thumbs.

Kathryn Dorney PT and OT use for various reasons on the children in my program. I am getting some nice results with application on facial musculature for short periods of time

Thanks Giving in March. A Heartfelt Thanks to ALL our Supporters!
