This long-forgotten gem of a cleaning agent may be used with a little water or vinegar to lift even the most stubborn stains. Unattractive grout driving you batty? Mold and mildew stains pushing you to the brink? Burner pans and casserole dishes giving you fits? Cream of Tartar is your new best friend.

Super Shine, DIY style: A whole lotta olive oil and a tbsp of honey. Mix it up and work it through your hair. Leave in for at least half an hour - overnight’s even better. Result: Gleaming, soft, smooth, totally non-staticky hair Going to have to try!

Without a doubt, one of the best things I ever did for my skin was to start making my own scrubs. The stuff at the store is chock full of stuff that's bad for your skin - all sorts of chemicals and alcohol. Yuck. Do your skin a favor... Go out and buy a mason jar. Add coarse sea salt, olive oil, almond oil, and if you can find it - jojoba oil. Use daily. Love your skin again. I add the olive oil and jojoba oil first to the salt and then add as much almond oil as I need to make it smell great....

Epoxy is the perfect material to make permanent repairs of rotting window sills, door jambs and exterior molding that are difficult to remove and expensive to replace. Epoxy is easy to handle too. You mix it like cookie dough, mold it like modeling clay and, when it hardens, you carve and sand it just like wood. It sticks like crazy and is formulated to flex and move with the wood, so it won't crack and fall out like some wood fillers.

Make raised letters for craft projects: print out the font you want and place wax paper over it. Trace letters with puffy paint, let dry, then use mod podge to secure letters to canvas, etc.

Good old Martha taught us that rather than buying those ridiculously expensive anti-slip mats for a rug, just turn it over and run a few lines of acrylic-latex caulk every 6 inches or so. Let dry and flip over and your rug wont be going anywhere!
